Hua Nan Financial Holdings Co. Ltd. is interested in 20% stake in Fujian Haixia Bank Co., Ltd. and hopes to gain the stake in a future acquisition deal. Hua Nan Financial Chairman Wang Rong-jou said his company aims to secure seats on the Board of Directors of Fujian Haixia Bank and even assign a representative to serve as the Governor of the bank through its 20%. Hua Nan Commercial Bank Ltd. is already in talks with Fujian Haixia.

Hua Nan Financial Holdings Co. Ltd.'s Hua Nan Commercial Bank Ltd. is reportedly planning to acquire 20% stake in Fujian Haixia Bank Co., Ltd., a company source with direct knowledge of the matter said. "Fujian Haixia Bank would offer advantages for us geographically," said the source on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. "Their president visited us last year and we signed an MOU." The shares of Hua Nan ended December 3, 2011, up 1.88% higher. Hua Nan Bank hired a consultant to evaluate a proposal to acquire a stake in a Chinese bank in September.
