Maxima LT to Invest EUR 32 Million in Expansion This Year

Maxima LT expects total investments in the chain's expansion in Lithuania this year to reach LTL 110 million (EUR 32 millionn), of which LTL 80 million is yet to be invested. In addition to LTL 30 million it has already invested in the chain's expansion this year, the company plans to spend LTL 40 million on renovation of existing stores and another LTL 40 million on new store openings.
Maxima to Build 45,000 Square Meter Logistics Center

Maxima announced that it is about to build a 45,000 square meter logistics center in the Rae municipality near the Estonian capital Tallinn for EUR 30 million. Construction of the logistics center in Kurna village next to the Tallinn ring road that will give work to 350 people started this week and the structure is scheduled to be completed in December 2015. The goal is to set up a single central warehouse complex enabling to serve all Maxima stores across Estonia. The center will have a total area of approximately 45,000 square meters including office areas and it is projected to serve an estimated 300 vehicles daily.
Maxima Reports Sales Results for the First Half Year of 2013; to Open Local Store in the Tallinn

Maxima reported sales results for the first half year of 2013. The company reported sales revenue in the first half of 2013 totaled EUR 187 million, marking an increase of 16.7% over the corresponding period in 2012. Maxima increased its revenue faster than the retail market on the average due to new store openings and launch of new processing sites.
The company is planning to continue its expansion in Estonia and is set to open a local store in the Tallinn borough of Nomme and a supermarket in the borough of Oismae still this year. Several stores are planned to be renovated. In all the retail chain is set to create more than 250 new jobs this year.
