Adesto Technologies Corporation unveiled a new family of Serial Flash memory products. The family includes 256-Kbit, 512-Kbit, and 1-Mbit densities and features page erase and industry-standard block erase capabilities. Products with 2-Mbit and 4-Mbit densities are scheduled for release later this year. Targeted for wearable, mobile, and other energy conscious applications, the new "Fusion" Serial Flash family enhances Adesto's existing AT25DF products by combining industry standard sector sizes and read/write commands with new features such as wide Vcc (1.65V-3.6V), "ultra-deep power down" mode, and page erase capability. The ultra-deep power down mode allows devices to function with a class leading standby current of 200 nanoamps an order of magnitude improvement over standby modes available. With these features, the new memory can extend the life of battery-operated devices such as Bluetooth low energy (BLE) products, DECT ULE (Ultra Low Energy), ZigBee RF4CE, Z-Wave and other Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct applications. With a wide voltage range of 1.65V to 3.6V the new Fusion Serial Flash family not only uses less power during standard operation but also offers designers the ability to operate over the full Vcc range of the battery - maximizing on-board energy reserves and eliminating the need for external regulators. Products supported by Adesto serial memory can operate from unregulated battery supplies and will continue to operate even when the remaining battery reaches voltages below 2.3V - further extending battery life and device function.

Adesto Technologies Introduces New Serial Flash Memory Products

Adesto Technologies announced new additions to its family of industry-standard Serial Flash memory products. The AT25SF family includes 4, 8, 16 and 32-Mbit density multi-I/O products, with a roadmap for higher density devices. The new products target high-volume, consumer-based applications in which program code is shadowed from flash into embedded or external RAM for execution. The AT25SF series incorporates a uniform, block-erase architecture to provide a high level of flexibility for a wide variety of code storage applications. The SPI-compatible 2.5V to 3.6V products feature up to 104 MHz operating speed and fast program and erase times. The devices also include security features such as a programmable security register and hardware controlled locking of protected blocks. Samples and production orders of the new AT25SF 4-Mbit and 8-Mbit products in SOIC packages are available now. Samples and production orders of the 16-Mbit and 32-Mbit devices in SOIC packages will be available in second quarter of 2014.
