Learning Care Group, Inc. announced that Susan Canizares, Ph.D., will join the organization as Chief Academic Officer effective October 15, 2012. As CAO, Canizares will be responsible for leading all aspects of the educational mission of Learning Care Group, including refining curricula and the policies and practices that address academic achievement. Reporting directly to the CEO, she will work closely with the company's school directors and teachers to maximize support for the enhancement of innovative learning products and solutions. Prior to joining Learning Care Group, Canizares was senior vice president and general manager of the English Learner Group at Pearson Education, where she led strategic planning and comprehensive program development. Previously, she was president of the Harcourt Achieve Supplemental Group, then senior vice president and publisher for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's K-12 Division.
