Daintree Networks, Inc. and LG Electronics USA Join Forces to Reduce the Overhead of Wireless LED Lighting Control
Mar 26 14
Daintree Networks, Inc. and LG Electronics USA announced they have teamed to create a fully integrated LED lighting solution with wireless control for commercial settings. Together, the companies have worked to embed wireless communication capability directly into LED drivers used in LG LED lighting fixtures, enabling seamless interaction with Daintree's ControlScope networked wireless control solution. Initial LG products with wireless drivers include LED troffer fixtures and retrofit kits. The resulting joint solution is expected to yield significant savings for users, both in up-front costs and in energy efficiency following installation, benefiting also from the market-leading efficacy of LG LED troffers. Using wireless LED drivers eliminates both the expense and installation challenges associated with using a separate wireless adapter, which was required for granular wireless control of overhead troffers in commercial and industrial buildings. Daintree estimates that, with the LG-Daintree solution, companies can expect to save up to 85% per fixture in equipment and labor for installing wireless communication and improve energy efficiency by up to 90%.
Daintree Networks, Inc. and Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. Collaborate to Provide Open-Standard ZigBee(R) Wireless Capability Integrated into Smart Lighting Products
Apr 15 13
Daintree Networks, Inc. and Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. announced their collaboration to provide open-standard ZigBee(R) wireless capability integrated into smart lighting products. The joint effort is focused initially on using Marvell semiconductor products to enable integrated wireless LED drivers that allow LED fixtures to interoperate with Daintree's open-standard ControlScope(TM) solution. Orama is the first company implementing this capability into its driver product line. Fixture manufacturers using integrated open-standard wireless LED drivers will gain access to expanding revenue opportunities in commercial and industrial wireless lighting. By implementing integrated wireless LED drivers, fixture manufacturers eliminate the need for a separate wireless adapter commonly used in today's deployments of commercial wireless lighting control. Installation is also easier with integrated wireless drivers. Drivers are pre-installed during factory fixture assembly, eliminating more expensive field assembly often required when connecting separate wireless adapters to standard drivers. Integration dramatically reduces total equipment, installation and commissioning project costs by $75 to $100 per fixture, enabling rapid market adoption of wireless control solutions by building owners and operators. Unlike existing analog control, integrated digital wireless control allows users to experience the full potential of LED lighting and energy management. This includes the ability to add advanced LED control features such as tunable white color control and granular device-level power and performance monitoring.
Daintree Networks, Inc. Expands Control to HVAC with Thermostat Automation in ControlScope 3.0
Jan 30 13
Daintree Networks, Inc. announced that the latest release of its control solution now extends control to HVAC applications with programmable thermostat automation. Commonly found in industrial, multi-site retail, and branch office facilities, programmable thermostats have been widely installed with the intent of providing energy savings by automating heating and cooling. However, that goal has largely been missed, creating substantial innovation and market opportunity. ControlScope 3.0 will not only offer this integrated control for new clients, but because of its open architecture, existing lighting control customers accounting for ten million square feet of commercial and industrial space will automatically gain these new capabilities, should they wish to take advantage of them. Originally a full-featured lighting control solution, ControlScope solution has evolved to enable broader smart building capabilities. Frequently built on a wireless network of lighting products, ControlScope has extended intelligence to other building control and monitoring functions. As it evolves, it continues to garner awards, including the most recent "Building Operating Management 2013 Top Products Award"--a 100% reader-selected honor.
