En+ and Shenhua to Carry Out RUB 85 Billion Coal Energy Project in Transbaikal

En+ and Shenhua could begin developing coal fields in the Chikoyskaya depression in Transbaikal territory. A power plant could be built at the field as well. Overall investments in the project are estimated at RUB 85 billion, excluding VAT, of which 20%-30% could come from company funds and 70%-80% from borrowed funds. The project has preliminarily been set to take place in 2014-2023.

En+ Group May Acquire Stake In Irkutsk

Maxim Sokov, General Director of En+ Group Ltd., when asked if En+, as a shareholder in OOO EuroSibEnergo, is in talks with INTER RAO UES (MICEX:IRAO) on buying the state electricity holding out of Irkutsk Joint Stock Company of Energetics and Electrification (MICEX:IRGZ), told Interfax, "From the point of view of industrial logic the consolidation of energy assets does look absolutely right. But as always it's a question of price. If we get a result we'll tell you about it with pleasure".

En+ Group and Shenhua Sign Agreement to Develop Zashulanskoye Coal Project in Transbaikal, Russia

En+ Group and Shenhua Group agreed on the next stage of cooperation for the development of the Zashulanskoye Coal deposit in the Transbaikal, Russia. The joint venture is scheduled to have the exploration completed and approved by the authorities within the next two years in order to confirm the reserve estimate; the JV will also prepare the required design documentation. En+ and Shenhua are poised to spend more than $1 billion in estimated investments. The Zashulanskoye deposit is estimated to contain 252 million tons of C1 high calorie and low sulphur coal. The joint venture plans to build an open pit mine with up to 6 million metric tonnes per annum in capacity. The coal produced will be used for electric and thermal power generation in the Transbaikal territory, as well as exports to China. The partners also plan to build an approximately 100km motor road to access the nearest railway station, utility lines, a fly-in-fly-out camp, permanent residences for key personnel, as well as social facilities.
