Telefónica Argentina reported unaudited earnings and operating results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2013. For the nine months, revenues were EUR 2,761 million against EUR 2,732 million last year. OIBDA was EUR 695 million against EUR 768 million last year. CapEx was EUR 354 million against EUR 290 million last year. OpCF (OIBDA-CapEx) was EUR 341 million against EUR 478 million last year. Revenues were underpinned by the growth in accesses and higher average usage, improving the performance in both the fixed and mobile businesses. Growth in OIBDA was due to a 19.9% year-on-year increase in the third quarter as a result of the strong acceleration in revenue growth and the year-on-year improvement in the evolution of expenses. CapEx was up 48.0% year-on-year, and mainly devoted to the improvement of the fixed and mobile network, thereby enhancing the quality of data services on both networks.
For the quarter, revenues were EUR 932 million against EUR 953 million last year. OIBDA was EUR 237 million against EUR 252 million last year. CapEx was EUR 120 million against EUR 115 million last year. OpCF (OIBDA-CapEx) was EUR 118 million against EUR 137 million last year.
For the nine months, traffic rose by 10% year-on-year in the first nine months (+8% year-on-year in the third quarter) due to the strong growth in accesses. ARPU increased by 6.7% year-on-year due to the good performance of outgoing ARPU, where growth in data stands out due to the success of the campaigns carried out over the year to expand the service. Traffic was 16,555 million minutes against 15,117 million minutes last year. ARPU was EUR 9.6 against EUR 10.9 last year.
For the quarter, traffic rose by 8% year-on-year, due to the strong growth in accesses. ARPU increased by 5.5% year-on-year. Traffic was 5,820 million minutes against 5,366 million minutes last year. ARPU was EUR 9.2 against EUR 11.1 last year.
