Xmark Corporation Key Developments
Xmark Corporation announced that its AeroScout(R) Staff Safety solution has been successfully implemented in the Emergency Department of the Centre Hospitalier C the de Lumi re in Sables d'Olonne, France. The solution is based on the AeroScout Real-Time Location System (RTLS) and leverages standard Wi-Fi networks to enable faster deployment, simpler maintenance and lower total cost of ownership. Centre Hospitalier uses the solution to reduce response times in the event of a staff member encountering an emergency situation. Centre Hospitalier deployed the AeroScout Staff Safety solution in its Emergency Department. The solution, implemented by Stanley Healthcare's partner BE-IP, consists of AeroScout Wi-Fi Tags with call buttons and AeroScout MobileView software. Nurses and physicians wear the tags and simply press a call button if a situation arises where help is needed. The solution alerts the security team and also provides the real-time location of the staff member in duress so that the team can arrive as quickly as possible.
Xmark Corporation announced that Charit hospital in Berlin is using the AeroScout(R) Asset Tracking & Management solution to improve operating room efficiency. The Wi-Fi Real-Time Location System (RTLS) leverages Charit's Cisco Unified Wireless Network, which delivers secure access to mobility services and applications, and is used by hospital staff to quickly locate critical medical equipment in the Campus Virchow-Klinikum. The solution helps Charit and its majority-owned subsidiary, Charit Facility Management GmbH (CFM), streamline the central sterilization process by reducing the time it takes to find equipment in need of sterilization, and reduce operating room delays by helping ensure that the right equipment is available when and where it is needed.
Xmark Corporation announced that The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, in London, England, has selected and implemented the company's Patient Security solutions to help protect newborn patients and children. The hospital is using the Hugs(TM) infant protection system with Kisses(TM) mother/infant matching, as well as the Passport(TM) patient protection system. These applications are part of Stanley Healthcare's Patient Security platform, and share a common device and communication network. The Hugs and Passport solutions are deployed across all nine floors of The Portland Hospital and have been integrated with a range of other security systems, including access control equipment, elevators and video surveillance systems. Stanley Healthcare's Hugs solution is in use at more than 1,200 hospitals worldwide to help protect infants from the potential threat of abduction; with the Kisses option, hospitals also receive an electronic means to properly match infants with their mothers in support of traditional matching ID bands. The Passport solution is specifically designed to protect children from abduction or patient flight. It offers unique features such as a tamper-resistant tag with cut-resistant band, the ability to remove the tag for medical procedures and then reattach it with the same band, and a customizable "whiteboard" to help manage the patient census.
