Bank of Georgetown Promotes Jonathan Higgins to Senior Vice President, Director of Business Development

Bank of Georgetown has promoted Jonathan Higgins to Senior Vice President, Director of Business Development. In this role, Higgins will guide the Bank's business development initiatives throughout the District, Maryland and Virginia. He will be responsible for expanding the Bank's commercial client base, with a focus on deposit growth. Higgins joined Bank of Georgetown at its founding in 2005, most recently serving as vice president of commercial banking throughout the Washington metro area. In this role, he helped commercial and industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate businesses achieve their financial goals by identifying smart and creative loan solutions. He began his Bank of Georgetown career as manager of its first branch, overseeing operations and supporting community outreach and business development in Georgetown. Prior to that, Higgins served as a financial center manager for BB&T's Georgetown branch.

Bank of Georgetown Moves Corporate Headquarters; Opens 11th Branch

Bank of Georgetown continued its expansion, announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters. Bank of Georgetown's 11(th) banking location in the Washington metro area will be named "The Winsor Branch" in honor of its co-founder and late chairman, Curtin Winsor III. The Bank partnered with the architecture firm CORE and Kane Construction to renovate what was originally a Washington Gas Company maintenance facility. The company also announced the opening of an adjoining branch at 1115 30(th) Street NW, just south of M Street in Washington, D.C. After 10 years and multiple expansions at its original location on 31(st) Street, nearly 50 employees moved into the 17,400 square-foot facility, which features multiple conference rooms, a boardroom and more space for day-to-day lending and deposit operations. Bank executives felt strongly that leaving their original headquarters did not require moving out of Georgetown.

Bank of Georgetown Announces Management Appointments

Bank of Georgetown announced the expansion of its business development team with the hiring of Kevin Corey, Vice President, Business Development Officer; and Billy Cullipher, Vice President, Business Development Officer. Kevin Corey will focus on business development in Northern Virginia, utilizing 30 years of industry experience in the Washington metro area to help local businesses and organizations identify and address their banking needs. Corey previously served as a vice president and business banker at BB&T, where he was responsible for business development in Northern Virginia. Corey currently serves on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Council on Small Business and is active with the Arlington Economic Development Small Business Council. Billy Cullipher will focus on extending existing commercial relationships and portfolios as well as developing new clients primarily in the Georgetown area, specifically those centered on architecture, law and property management.
