University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Endowment Announces Executive Changes

Carol Folt, the interim president of Dartmouth College and a professor of biological sciences, has been elected as the 11th chancellor of UNC-Chapel Hill, the school has confirmed. UNC President Tom Ross placed Folt's name in nomination Friday at a special meeting of the Board of Governors that oversees the university system. She will take on her new role July 1, succeeding Holden Thorp, who is becoming provost of Washington University in St. Louis.
