Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has unveiled a new Goldman Sachs Global Macro Strategic Bond Portfolio, a new UCITS fund of Goldman Sachs Funds SICAV domiciled in Luxembourg. Managed by the GSAM global fixed income and liquidity management team, the portfolio includes a macro-focused, alternative fixed income investment fund reflecting GSAM's high-conviction assessment of global interest rates, currencies and emerging market debt. The portfolio seeks to generate long-term absolute returns by investing across the global bond and currency markets while employing a range of investment techniques. The Fund, which is available with minimum initial investment of $5,000, offered in Base, Institutional shares as well as other currency shares.
Goldman, Deutsche Bank Reportedly Near Deal For NBGI Private Equity

The private-equity units of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS) and Deutsche Bank AG (DB:DBK) are nearing an agreement to purchase the buyout arm of National Bank of Greece SA (ATSE:ETE), according to two people with knowledge of the matter. Goldman Sachs Asset Management and DB Private Equity are in talks to pay £300 million for NBGI Private Equity Ltd., aid the people, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly. NBGI’s management, headed by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Pavlos Stellakis, is in negotiations to remain with the London-based unit after the deal is completed, though no final decision has been made, two of the people said. “We’re in the final stage, but there hasn’t been any decision,” Dimitris Spyropoulos, a spokesman for Athens-based National Bank, said yesterday. Spokesmen for Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and NBGI all declined to comment.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management Launches European HY Bond Fund

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has launched a new bond fund set to target the European high yield market. The Luxembourg-domiciled fund will be overseen by the firm's corporate credit investment team. It will invest primarily in below investment grade bonds issued by companies from across the region. Goldman Sachs AM said the launch of the fund was designed to offer investors a fixed income fund able to weather a period of uncertain interest rates rises in Europe, as well as widespread bank deleveraging.
