In January 1998, Capital Bancorp merged with and into Union Planters Holding Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Union Planters Corporation. Capital Bancorp operated as the holding company of Capital Bank, as of September 30, 1997. The bank provided receivables-based commercial financing and related fee-based credit, collection, and management information services through offices located in Boca Raton, Florida; New York, New York; Los Angeles, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; and a limited service office in Atlanta, Georgia.
