Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA and China Development Bank Corporation Sign Cooperation Agreement

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA and China Development Bank Corporation have signed a cooperation agreement targeting promotion of joint projects worth EUR 3 billion (USD 3.792 billion) in the first five years. Under the contract, the two entities will promote programmes and projects that reinforce cooperation between them. CDP and CDB will jointly explore opportunities in several business areas including infrastructure, direct equity investments and export financing. The agreement was signed by CDP chairman Franco Bassanini and CDB counterpart Hu Huaibang.

China Development Bank Opens Second Latam Bank in Caracas

The China Development Bank (CDB) opened an office in Venezuelan capital Caracas, the second financial institution it establishes in Latin America after Rio de Janeiro. The opening comes ahead of China's President Xi Jinping scheduled visit to Venezuela, the third of four stops in Latin America, as the two countries are seeking to expand existing relations between the large economy and one of the large producers and exporters of crude oil.

China Development Bank to Build Residential Housing Financial Affair Unit

China Development Bank was agreed by China Banking Regulatory Commission to incorporate a residential housing financial affair unit with a purpose to speed up the reconstruction of shantytowns. As required by the State Council, the unit should implement independent accounting and will issue residential housing financial bonds in a market-oriented way. Independent accounting is aimed to help the bank to raise capital for shantytown renovation through bond issuance and establish an independent and clear account through a market-oriented way.
