Eaton Vance Massachusetts Municipal Income Trust reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended August 31, 2014. For the quarter, the trust had net investment income of $496,000 or $0.181 per common share against $517,000 or $0.188 a year ago. Net realized and unrealized gains were $497,000 or $0.172 per common share against net realized and unrealized losses of $5,451,000 or $1.980 per common share. Net increase in net assets from operations was $988,000 or $0.351 per share against net decreases in net assets from operations of $4,940,000 or $1.794 per share a year ago.
