Jerry Davis, a Former Employee Files Lawsuit against FOX Cable Network Services, FOX Sports Net, FOX Sports and FOX Networks Group over Claims of Racial Discrimination

A former employee sued News Corp.'s FOX Sports over claims of racial discrimination. Jerry Davis, a former director in the FOX Sports music department, on April 5 filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against FOX Cable Network Services, FOX Sports Net, FOX Sports and FOX Networks Group. The suit accused FOX Sports of denying Davis a promotion despite working for the company from August 1997 because, as a black man, he did not fit neatly into the company's corporate culture. The lawsuit reads, in the division that runs broadcast/'over the air' sports programming for FOX, there are currently approximately 34 individuals employed at or above the vice president level. None are black. In his lawsuit, Davis also accused FOX Sports of eliminating his position in February while he was on disability leave without providing any interactive process or attempts at accommodation.
