It raises funds through issuing debt securities in various currencies to both institutional and retail investors, as well as through associated financial derivatives. The bank offers loans and related derivative products to developing countries for education, health, infrastructure, communication, and other purposes, as well as provides guarantees on loans from private investors for projects in countries eligible to borrow from IBRD.
