Renaissance Learning Inc. Key Developments

Compass Learning and Renaissance Learning Partner to Bridge Assessment and Personalized Instruction for K-12 Classrooms

Compass Learning, a leader in personalized learning, and Renaissance Learning, the market leader in K-12 assessment and learning analytics, announced a strategic partnership that will make it easier for educators to personalize instruction to the needs of students. Available this fall, the integration of Renaissance Learning's STAR reading and math data and the newly released suite of solutions from Compass Learning will provide educators powerful tools to assess each student's proficiency and automatically assign personalized learning paths that align to both state and Common Core standards. The Renaissance Learning progression -- a sequencing of skills a student must master from Kindergarten to high school graduation -- is powered by insights from more than 54 million assessments taken each year by students at more than one third of U.S. schools. With this integration, results from STAR assessments combined with Compass Learning content will automatically deliver personalized learning paths for educators in three simple steps: 1. Compass Learning imports test data from Renaissance Learning STAR assessments into Compass Learning software including Hybridge, Pathblazer and Gradbound. 2. A learning path is assigned to each student based on the data. 3. Students then complete a range of Compass Learning activities, built on decades of research about how kids engage and learn, and linked directly to their educational needs and abilities.

Renaissance Learning Integrates its Accelerated Reader Software with Capstone

Renaissance Learning announced the integration of its Accelerated Reader software with publishing partner Capstone. According to the company, the integration will enable educators to link Accelerated Reader Quizzes to two of Capstone's digital products, Capstone Interactive e-Books and myON, which cumulatively include more than 7,000 interactive e-Books.

Renaissance Learning Inc. Introduces Accelerated Math Live

Renaissance Learning Inc. announced the newest version of Accelerated Math--the most widely used math program in K12 schools. The new Accelerated Math Live will be available for the 2013-2014 school year. At the heart of Accelerated Math Live is the Core Progress learning progression. New content has been built from the ground up specifically designed to meet the spirit and intent of the Common Core State Standards, with new content libraries from kindergarten through high school. Custom content also aligns to state standards, including the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) test. With Accelerated Math Live's new online program, students can view and answer math problems using computers, laptops, or touch-screen tablets--or use paper and pencil. Working online, students' work is scored instantly, and teachers can monitor progress and guide instruction more quickly than ever.
