General Electric Capital Services Inc. to Support Initial Rollout of Motus Motorcycles through Dealer Inventory Financing

General Electric Capital Services Inc.'s Commercial Distribution Finance business has agreed to provide Motus Motorcycles with inventory financing to support the expansion of its dealer network in the U.S. The manufacturer was founded four years ago to produce premium American-made sport-touring motorcycles. Recently, Motus launched production plans for the 2013 line, its first model year. CDF provides inventory financing for numerous brands of motorsports products, both established and emerging. This type of arrangement, also known as floorplan financing, allows dealers to stock, market and sell a wide variety of motorcycles and related products from manufacturers. It's an important element of a successful manufacturer-dealer business model.

GE Reportedly To Sell Businesses In Capital-Finance

General Electric Company is reportedly seeking to sell businesses in capital-finance portfolio, as reported by Wall Street Journal over the weekend. Investors have reportedly expressed concerns over General Electric Capital Services Inc, which has become one of the largest banks in the U.S. Now GE is seeking to divest consumer-finance portfolio which will reduce the loan portfolio of GE Capital by as much as 16%, the report added.
