ChromaDex, Inc. Enters into Exclusive License Agreement with Dartmouth College

On June 2, 2014, ChromaDex Inc. entered into an Exclusive License Agreement with Dartmouth College. Under the terms of the agreement, Dartmouth granted to ChromaDex a worldwide, exclusive, sublicensable right and license to use certain patent rights relating to the Nicotinamide Riboside Assay System, for use in human and animal therapeutics. The Agreement terminates on the earliest of the expiration date of the last to expire patent right. Either party may terminate the Agreement if the other party breaches the Agreement. ChromaDex may terminate the Agreement at any time upon 90 days' prior written notice. As consideration for the license granted, ChromaDex will make a cash payment to Dartmouth. Additionally, ChromaDex will pay Dartmouth annual license maintenance fees, earned royalties on net sales of all licensed products, payments upon the completion of certain strategic milestones, as well as other consideration associated with sublicensing and manufacturing of the compound.

Dartmouth College Elects Philip J. Hanlon as President

The Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College has elected Philip J. Hanlon '77, PhD, as 18th president. President-Elect Hanlon serves as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Michigan, where he is also the Donald J. Lewis Professor of Mathematics. Hanlon will take office on July 1, 2013, and succeeds Jim Yong Kim, who was selected to serve as president of the World Bank in April this year. Carol L. Folt, the Dartmouth Professor of Biological Sciences, will continue to serve as interim president through June 30, 2013, when she will resume her role as provost. Hanlon is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, and of the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Algebraic Combinatorics and the Electronic Journal of Combinatorics and is a member and past chairman of the mathematics sub-panel of the National Security Agency Advisory Board, on which he served for 13 years until 2007.
