Jeff D. Treichel has assumed the role of executive director, ad interim, for the Division of Continuing and Innovative Education at The University of Texas at Austin. In this position, effective March 1, Treichel provides leadership to all CIE units and departments, in addition to his ongoing role as CIE's chief business officer and compliance officer overseeing all financial and human resource operations. He succeeds the late Linda L. Glessner, who passed away in January after a short illness. Treichel's appointment comes from Steven Leslie, the university's executive vice president and provost. Treichel came to CIE in 2008 after serving two years as director of finance and resource planning with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). In that role, he was responsible for the direction and analysis of state appropriations, budgets and institutional annual reports on higher education financing and facilities.
