Océ N.V. Key Developments
Oce announced the launch of the new Oce JetStream(R) 5500 full-color inkjet printing system, part of the Oce JetStream wide series. This innovative printer is the fastest inkjet press in the Oce portfolio. The incredible productivity and low running costs of the Oce JetStream 5500 printing system accelerate the transition from traditional offset printing to profitable high-quality digital inkjet printing. The Oce JetStream 5500 full-color inkjet printing system produces 5,452 letter images per minute on a 30-inch wide web. This solution combines the ultimate in productivity and print image quality. Using the industry-proven Oce DigiDot(R) inkjet drop-on-demand and multi-level technology, an excellent image quality of 600 x 480 dpi is produced at 833 feet per minute. Moreover, the premium 1200 dpi perceived image quality is produced at 656 feet per minute. The Oce JetStream 5500 full-color inkjet press is the ideal solution for book, newspaper and transaction printing. For example, trade books in the 6-inch x 9-inch format can be printed 4-up, allowing for maximum productivity. This reduces the cost per book produced and strongly drives the economies of scale in favor of the print provider. The Oce PRISMAproduction(R) Software Suite output management system solution for digital webfed production printers, coupled with the Oce SRA(R) MP controller with its unrivalled performance, drives variable data at an uninterrupted production speed of 833 feet per minute on a 30-inch wide web. An especially exciting feature for the book and newspaper printing industry is the support of the native PDF (Adobe(R) PDF Print Engine 2.5) format, which is embedded in the IPDS datastream and is ripped directly on the printer controller, eliminating the costly and time-consuming intermediate process.
Oce announced four new models in the Oce Arizona(R) 400 Series of UV flatbed printers: Oce Arizona 460 GT, Oce Arizona 460 XT, Oce Arizona 440 GT and Oce Arizona 440 XT printers. Joining the Oce Arizona 480 GT and Oce Arizona 480 XT models introduced in October 2012, these additional models complete the Oce Arizona 400 Series of next-generation UV flatbed printers that feature exceptional quality, improved productivity, application versatility and the ability to upgrade as business grows. The Oce Arizona 400 Series includes six different UV flatbed printers featuring four, six or eight independent ink channels in two different flatbed sizes, offering a range of applications capabilities and capacity to suit nearly any mid-volume print service provider. And as a provider's needs change, an upgrade path is available to ensure that the investment in an Oce Arizona 400 Series printer is protected from obsolescence. Oce VariaDot(R) imaging technology is the key to the image quality of every Oce Arizona printer. Included in these new models, Oce VariaDot imaging technology can produce near-photographic quality with sharpness equivalent to 1,440 dpi or higher. Text as small as 2 pt. is perfectly legible, even when reverse-printed (white ink on a black field). Active Pixel Placement Compensation assures image sharpness, density and uniformity, wherever it is printed on the flatbed or on the Roll Media Option. This feature is standard on all Oce Arizona 400 Series printers. The Oce Arizona 400 Series printer family is designed to grow with a print service provider's business. Owners can upgrade at any time to add more application versatility and improve productivity. The following upgrades are available: Oce Arizona 440 to Oce Arizona 460 adds Varnish + White or Double-White capability; Oce Arizona 460 to Oce Arizona 480 adds CM2 capability; Oce Arizona 440 to Oce Arizona 480 adds Varnish + White or Double-White capability plus CM2 capability.
Océ N.V. announced the new Oce Arizona(R) 480 GT and Oce Arizona 480 XT printers that feature remarkable application versatility and improved productivity while maintaining the uncompromising quality favored by Oce Arizona Series customers. The Oce Arizona 480 printers represent the latest generation in this market-leading product family. Featuring the same Oce VariaDot(R) imaging technology as in every Oce Arizona printer, these models offer even more application versatility and production efficiencies. New features include: eight independent ink channels with support for varnish or double-opacity white ink printing, including additional cyan and magenta channels for higher print quality at faster speeds; precise vacuum system, configured to match the majority of standard-sized graphic arts media; and batch mode operation for streamlining multi-layered jobs or facilitating set collation. Eight independent ink channels for application flexibility, increased productivity. Both Oce Arizona 480 GT and Oce Arizona 480 XT models include eight independent ink channels with the first four configured for standard CMYK printing. Oce Arizona 480 GT and Oce Arizona 480 XT models use Oce's new active pixel placement compensation to assure image sharpness, density and uniformity, whether it is printed on the flatbed or on the Roll Media Option. This is achieved by dynamically adjusting the location of individual pixels to account for localized variations in flatbed or platen height. The Oce Arizona 480 GT printer offers the standard table size of 49.2 by 98.4 inches and the Oce Arizona 480 XT printer offers the extra large table size of 98.4 by 120 inches. Both can print on rigid media up to 2.0 inches thick. A Roll Media Option is available for both models to print on flexible media up to 86.6 inches wide. With print speeds of up to 272 square feet per hour of high quality production capacity over the broadest range of media and applications, graphics professionals needing to print 53,800-107,600 square feet per year will find it to be the right tool for the job.
