Hiram E. Chodosh will be inaugurated as the fifth President of Claremont McKenna College (CMC) on October 5, 2013. The installation ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. in Bridges Auditorium, a historic venue at The Claremont Colleges. The ceremony serves as the centerpiece of an exciting series of events in celebration of President Chodosh's inaugural year at CMC. Other inaugural highlights include signature presentations by statistician-extraordinaire Nate Silver (who headlined the first inaugural event on September 19), Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi (speaking today), and former legal advisor to the U.S. State Department Harold Koh (to speak on October 8).

Claremont Mckenna College Announces Executive Changes

The Board of Trustees of Claremont McKenna College has elected Hiram E. Chodosh as CMC's fifth president. President-elect Chodosh, 50, serves as Dean of the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, where he is also the Hugh B. Brown Endowed Presidential Professor of Law and Senior Presidential Adviser on Global Strategy. Chodosh will take office on July 1, 2013, and succeeds Pamela B. Gann, who has served as President of CMC since 1999. She will continue at the College as a professor of legal studies. He has served as a Senior Fulbright Scholar in India and as an advisor to the U.N. Development Programme in Asia, the World Bank Justice Reform Group, the International Monetary Fund Legal Department, the State Department, and many supreme courts, ministries, and commissions in the Middle East and Asia.
