Colby College Key Developments
William D. Adams announced he will retire in June 2014 from Colby College as president. Adams has led the school since 2000. Under his tenure, Colby's academic program has grown, particularly in environmental studies and visual arts, and the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement was founded and a new center for the arts and humanities opened.
Hugh O'Donnell was named chief investment officer of Colby College's $611 million endowment, effective August 1, 2012. Mr. O'Donnell will replace Douglas E. Reinhardt, who is retiring next March; the two will work together until Mr. Reinhardt retires. Mr. O'Donnell was an investment manager at Kamehameha Schools' $9.1 billion endowment but had been based in Boston.
