Bell Mobility Launches 4G Wireless Service in Pelly Crossing & Burwash Landing as Part of Northwestel Modernization Plan

Bell Mobility and the Government of Yukon announced the launch of 4G wireless service in Pelly Crossing and Burwash Landing. This expansion of Bell's 4G network was completed in partnership with the Government of Yukon and is part of Northwestel's Modernization Plan. Launched in 2013, the Plan is delivering advanced Internet and wireless services to northerners in all 3 territories. In October 2013, Northwestel announced the transfer of its wireless portfolio to Bell Mobility. As part of this transfer, Bell Mobility is delivering on the wireless components of the Northwestel Plan. Together, Bell and the Yukon government are investing approximately $2.6 million over the next 4 years to support the launch of 13 new wireless sites that will provide 4G service to additional communities across Yukon. Bell is investing more than $1.8 million, while the Yukon government is committing up to $758,000.

Henry Selects Bell Mobility's Camera-Equipped Smartphones

Henry's and Bell announced that Henry's customers can now experience the ultimate in Phoneography with a selection of Bell Mobility's camera-equipped smartphones alongside Henry's sales experts and wireless photography gear. Bell Mobility smartphones with powerful camera features like the Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung's Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8) will be available first at Henry's Toronto and Pickering locations and ultimately at all 32 Henry's stores. Henry's will offer six smartphone models selected for their superior camera capabilities, including the Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung's Galaxy S5 and the all new HTC One (M8). Supporting the growing desire to blend anywhere, anytime connectivity with superior camera quality, these smartphones will be available with service from Bell Mobility on Canada's large LTE network. Consumers will also find the large selection of accessories to complement the smartphone's camera function, including portable quick connect lenses, 3D viewfinders, smartphone stabilizers and more.

Northwestel May Acquire Stake In Latitude Wireless

Northwestel Inc. eyes stake in Latitude Wireless of BCE, Inc. (TSX:BCE). BCE will transfer its wireless business to Bell Mobility Bell Mobility, Inc. in first quarter of 2014. As part of the transformation, Northwestel would acquire Dakwakada Development Corporation's interest in Latitude Wireless.
