CEZ Romania Announces Executive Changes

Martin Zmelik has taken over the management of CEZ in Romania, replacing Jan Veskrna. At the same time, Doina Vornicu was appointed COO of the group in Romania adding that it is the first time when the second most important strategic position inside the group is granted to a Romanian manager. Veskrna has completed his nine-year term as country manager and president of CEZ Romania. Zmelik has gained significant experience in both business and energy sector, beginning his career in CEZ Group in January 2005. He came to Romania in February 2010 to fill the position of COO of CEZ Group in the country.
CEZ Romania Plans To Sell 100% Stake In Wind Farm

CEZ Romania plans to sell 100% stake in its 600 MW wind farm, Tomas Pleskac, Head of Foreign Operations of CEZ, a.s. (SEP:CEZ), the parent firm of CEZ Romania, said. Earlier in April, CEZ Romania officials announced plans to sell part of the wind farm, explaining that it is far from yielding the kind of returns CEZ expects from its investments. There are several pension funds interested, he disclosed.

CEZ Group's 600-megawatt Fantanele/Cogealac wind park now is in full operation and is producing enough cleaner energy to power more than one million Romanian households each year. The project utilizes 240 GE 2.5-megawatt wind turbines, including the 1,000(th) 2.5-megawatt (MW) class machine installed by GE worldwide. The final wind turbine for Fantanele/Cogealac was connected to the regional grid in late November. The new wind park is located in Dobrogea, Constanta County, Romania, which is one of the most promising wind power regions in the country. The project owner, CEZ România S.R.L., is part of CEZ Group.
