Apptio Announces Launch into the Australian Market

Apptio announced its launch into Australia and New Zealand. Apptio has officially opened offices in both Sydney and Melbourne, in addition to embarking on a hiring drive to bolster local presence. The company will work with UXC Ltd. as an implementer, integrator and reseller. Customers at launch include Orica and the Australian Government departments of Education and Employment Shared Services Centre. Apptio Technology Business Management software is a suite of cloud applications that give IT leaders the facts they need to make faster decisions, improve efficiency and communicate business value. Through the use of TBM within a business, Apptio is providing CIOs with the ability to harness their financial, operational, and organizational and performance data to showcase the value IT brings to their business. Customers turn to Apptio to create transparency into the costs of delivering and supporting IT products, applications and services; manage the cost, utilization and quality of what they deliver; benchmark themselves against their peers and cloud providers; and collaborate with business partners on trade-offs between cost and value. The company's Australian go-to-market strategy is led by General Manager, Richard Outten, and involves leveraging reseller partnerships including a key relationship with UXC Ltd, the larger Australian-owned ICT infrastructure solutions and services company. Apptio will be working closely with UXC to distribute Apptio's applications across all sectors, including government and education. Apptio announced three key leadership hires, positioning its business for its next phase of growth. Sean Boyle, former vice president of investor relations at Amazon, joins as Apptio's new chief financial officer. Ted Kummert, a long-time Microsoft product executive, joins as Apptio's new executive vice president of engineering and cloud operations. And Peter Klein, formerly the chief financial officer of Microsoft, joins Apptio's board of directors. Boyle joins Apptio from Amazon, where he most recently served as vice president of investor relations of Amazon.com. Most recently, Kummert served as a venture partner at Madrona Venture Group. Most recently, Klein served as the CFO of Microsoft from November 2009 until May 2013.
