Movea Announces Availability of Sash Evaluation Kit
Feb 25 14
Movea announced the availability of its first SASH (Smart Architecture Sensor Hub) evaluation kit - the most complete, lowest-power sensor-hub evaluation kit available. SASH-1, built on STMicroelectronics' STM32F401 microcontroller and powered by Movea's SmartMotion(TM) technology, is an Android 4.4-based evaluation kit that lets OEMs and application developers get to market fast with immediate access to the broadest and most advanced set of features. SASH-1 is a complete software and hardware package on a Nexus phone including Movea's optimized embedded algorithms that deliver ultra-low-power features, allowing developers to unlock the potential of a trillion sensors into a million applications. It performs all 9-axis always-on motion processing required by Android 4.4 on the stand-alone sensor hub, offloading the processing tasks from the application processor. Movea's SASH-1 is the first to offer unparalleled, always-on functions at ultra-low power consumption, including Android 4.4 requirements and beyond: Significant motion detection <40mW. Step counting <100mW. Activity monitoring and context awareness <300mW. Cadency, speed and distance when walking and running. Energy expenditure. Context detection for walking, running and in transport. Extensive library supporting a wide range of sports at >95%. Pedestrian Dead Reckoning <1.8mW. Step cadency, distance, heading, floor detection enabling best trajectory performance.
Movea SmartMotion Technology Now Available on Cadence Tensilica HiFi Audio/Voice DSP Family
Feb 18 14
Cadence Design Systems Inc. and Movea announced that Movea’s SmartMotion technology is being ported to the Cadence Tensilica HiFi Audio/Voice digital signal processing (DSP) family. This software will be available in May 2014. Targeting mobile consumer devices such as smart phones and tablets, Movea’s SmartMotion technology enhances the consumer experience by delivering compelling motion-driven applications and services including activity monitoring, context awareness, pedestrian dead-reckoning and mobile gestures, turning sensor data into meaningful personal information. The technology is scheduled to be demonstrated at the Cadence booth in hall 6, stand 6L36 at Mobile World Congress on February 24 to 27, 2014. The Tensilica HiFi Mini Audio/Voice DSP core is Cadence’s smallest and lowest power DSP core, enabling always-on applications including voice activation, sensor fusion and the associated power management. It is also capable of running more elaborate voice recognition and audio/voice codecs because of software compatibility with the HiFi family.
Movea Releases Mobile Indoor Pedestrian Navigation Design Suite for Android
Nov 7 13
Movea announced the availability of its indoor navigation design suite for the Android 4.3 and above mobile operating system -- a key step in enabling technology companies and businesses to deploy indoor navigation solutions for map and positioning applications and targeted advertising. Through the availability of the indoor navigation design suite, Movea is putting its expertise in the hands of application developers to integrate quality data for smarter mobile devices. With the release of Android 4.3, it is now possible to access uncalibrated raw sensor data at the application level, enabling Movea to roll out its own highly accurate and robust indoor navigation solution to determine trajectory and orientation-based motion processing and data fusion techniques. As a result, Movea makes it possible for mobile device OEMs and applications developers to integrate valuable data including users' trajectory, step and distance calculation outputs into location-based end-user applications. Thanks to this design suite, data fusion of motion processing and RF positioning technologies like GPS, WiFi and indoor maps, can now be easily developed to provide a complete and accurate solution for indoor navigation and location services for mobile devices.
