With more than 22 U.S. National Championships and a silver medal from the 2004 Olympic Marathon in Athens, Meb is the ideal executive to develop CGI’s training content and directly contribute to the company’s overall growth in the running industry focusing on the popular Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. In his role as VP of Running, Meb will be responsible for developing content for the Competitor brand, supporting CGI’s sponsorship sales team and making appearances at the company’s world-class events.

Competitor Group, Inc. announced that its board of directors has named David Abeles as Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. Additionally, Barrett Garrison has joined the company as Chief Financial Officer and Keith Kendrick has been permanently appointed Chief Marketing Officer. Abeles was most recently the Executive Vice President and General Manager at TaylorMade-Adidas Golf Company, where over the past six years he led the commercial operations. Prior to TaylorMade, Abeles served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Cobra Golf. Garrison comes to CGI having spent the past six years as the Vice President and then CFO of NetSpend Corporation. Prior to NetSpend, Garrison held senior finance positions with Dell and Seiko Instruments. Kendrick joined CGI as a consultant and was appointed interim Chief Marketing Officer in October 2013. He has been driving a number of marketing initiatives including brand standardization, grassroots and multiple channel direct marketing. In large part due to Kendrick's efforts, CGI's event brand, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series has seen a 5% increase in registration year to date.
