Vodafone Ends Merger Talks With WIND Hellas

Vodafone Group plc has ended the talks to merge Vodafone-Panafon Hellenic Telecommunications Company S.A. (Vodafone Greece) with WIND Hellas Telecommunications S.A. "Vodafone Group and Largo Limited, the sole shareholder of Wind Hellas, confirm that they have agreed to terminate discussions relating to a potential business combination between Vodafone Greece and WIND Hellas," Vodafone said.

Vodafone To Merge Panafon With WIND

Vodafone Group plc is engaged in discussions regarding the merger of Vodafone - Panafon S.A. with WIND Hellas Telecommunications S.A. "Discussions are at an early stage and there is no certainty as to whether an agreement will be reached," Vodafone said in an e-mail on August 29, 2011. Panafon and WIND combination will put Vodafone in direct competition with Cosmote Mobile Telecommunications SA. WIND has confirmed that its shareholders are holding discussions with Vodafone to strike a deal. "At this point in time there is no guarantee these talks will conclude in an agreement," WIND said.
