The University of Arizona has named Jon Dudas as senior associate to the president and secretary of the university. Dudas previously served as under secretary of commerce for intellectual property and director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In the newly created position, Dudas will help facilitate the UA's relationship with the Arizona Board of Regents and Arizona's other public universities. He will report directly to UA President Ann Weaver Hart and serve as a member of her cabinet.

The University of Arizona announced that Sally Reel, PhD, RN, FNP, BC, FAAN, FAANP, associate dean for academic practice, university distinguished outreach professor and clinical professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing, has been appointed associate vice president for health sciences interprofessional education, collaboration and community engagement. Dr. Reel began her new position March 17 and reports to Joe G.N. "Skip" Garcia, MD, UA senior vice president for health sciences. In her new role, Dr. Reel will provide senior leadership in the development and implementation of interprofessional education and training programs for the UA's health sciences colleges (the UA College of Medicine - Tucson; the UA College of Medicine - Phoenix; the UA College of Pharmacy; the UA College of Nursing and the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health) and manage the external relationships critical to their success.
