Scania's annual general meeting for the financial year 2013 was held on June 11, 2014. The Annual General Meeting determined that no dividend would be disbursed to the shareholders for the financial year 2013.

Scania Announces Unaudited Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and First Half of 2014

Scania announced unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and first half of 2014. For the second quarter, the company reported net income of SEK 1,416 million compared to SEK 1,373 million reported for the same period last year. Income before taxes was at SEK 1,957 million against SEK 1,996 million reported last year. Net sales were at SEK 22,791 million against SEK 22,798 million reported last year. Operating income was at SEK 2,019 million against SEK 2,038 million reported last year. Cash flow from operating activities was at SEK 1,983 million against SEK 1,999 million reported last year. For the first half period, the company announced operating income rose by 8% to SEK 4,276 million compared to SEK 3,971 million a year ago. Net sales rose by 4% to SEK 43,917 million compared to SEK 42,139 million a year ago. Net income was at SEK 2,973 million compared to SEK 2,771 million reported for the same period last year. Income before taxes was at SEK 4,066 million against SEK 3,914 million reported last year. Return on equity was at 17.3% against 18.0% reported last year. Cash flow from operating activities was at SEK 4,313 million against SEK 3,315 million reported last year.

Scania AB Introduces New IMO Tier II-Certified Engines

Scania AB has introduced the new IMO Tier II-certified 13- and 16-liter engines. The engines have previously been certified according to the US EPA Tier 3 Marine and CCNR Stage II regulations (Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine). With the additional IMO Tier II certification, more customers can benefit from the high engine torque offered by Scania for coastal and oceangoing marine operations. With the newly-certified marine engines, DI13 80M and DI13 81M, and DI16 80M, Scania has a broad range of 13-liter engines from 162 to 551 kW and 16-liter engines from 221 to 736 kW. The Scania Marine Solution has thus been expanded, allowing more customers to tailor products for their specific operations.
