Ohio University Office of Research Compliance Appoints Christopher Hayhow as New Director

Christopher Hayhow has been named the new director of the Ohio University Office of Research Compliance. Hayhow joins the university from Merial where he served as director of regulatory affairs biologics in Athens, Georgia. He has 21 years of private industry experience working in the areas of regulatory affairs and project management. Hayhow previously worked as the staff veterinarian for the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio, and operated a private veterinary practice in Jackson, Ohio. He began his new position at the university on July 14. He replaces Jo Ellen Sherow, who retired from Ohio University in April after 30 years of service. During the next year, Hayhow will oversee efforts to migrate the Institutional Review Board process, which manages the use of human subjects in research, from a paper-based system to an electronic one.

Mike Gebeke Left Ohio University as Executive Director of Facilities Management

Ohio University announced that the university's current executive director of facilities management, Mike Gebeke, left the University on Feb. 1, to accept a position at The University of Alabama at Birmingham as assistant vice president for Facilities Management. Gebeke joined the University in 2009.

Ohio University Announces Management Changes

Ohio University announced that Deb Shaffer has joined the University as the Senior Associate Vice President (SAVP) for Finance and Administration and will be responsible for the departments of Human Resources and Finance. Her first day was July 10, 2013. Joe Lalley has also been hired as the SAVP for Information Technologies and Administrative Services which includes the Office of Information Technology and Facilities. Joe begins his new duties on August 1, 2013. In addition to the recruitment of new senior leadership, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Linda Lonsinger has accepted a position in the Office of Legal Affairs as Associate General Counsel effective July 22, 2013.
