LSU Appoints Daniel T. Layzell as Vice President for Finance and Administration, Effective Feb. 25, 2014

LSU announced that Daniel T. Layzell will be taking over as the university's vice president for finance and administration. Layzell's appointment, pending approval from the LSU Board of Supervisors, will become effective Feb. 25, 2014. The vice president for finance and administration, which is a new position at LSU, will serve as the chief financial officer for the state's campus in Baton Rouge, as well as the chief financial officer for statewide operations of LSU and all its campuses. Layzell served as the vice president for finance and planning at Illinois State University since 2009.

Louisiana State University Announces Management Changes

There was a changing of the guard during the September Board of Supervisors meeting. Hank Danos' term as chairman came to an end and chair-elect Robert "Bobby" Yarborough was sworn in to begin his one-year term as chairman. In addition, Ann Duplessis was selected as chair-elect and will succeed Yarborough when his term ends next year. Danos had served as chair of the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors since December 2011, following the passing of then-chair Benjamin Mount. Per board regulations, Danos finished Mount's term and then served his own term as chair. Yarborough is the CEO/Co-Owner of Manda Fine Meats. He is the member-at-large of the LSU Board, and his term of service ends June 1, 2014.
