JELD-WEN, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

JELD-WEN, Inc. has announced the appointment of Kirk Hachigian as the new president and CEO. Mr. Hachigian, Chairman of JELD-WEN's board of directors, will succeed Philip Orsino, who has led the company since Onex Corporation invested in JELD-WEN in October 2011. In March, Mr. Orsino will retire as President and CEO and from the company's board but will remain with JELD-WEN as a corporate Vice-Chairman, continuing to provide leadership in the areas of strategy, technology and commercial operations. Mr. Orsino will also be resuming his strategic partnership with Onex Corporation, focusing on new investment opportunities in the global building products industry. During his career, Mr. Hachigian previously served as Chairman, President and CEO of Cooper Industries, until its merger with Eaton Corporation in 2012. Prior to joining Cooper, Mr. Hachigian was President and CEO of Asia Pacific Operations for GE Lighting.

Jeld-Wen announced that it plans to close its Dubuque wood fiber production plant March 28, laying off 52 people.

Jeld-Wen Inc. to Close Christiansburg Plant in January

Jeld-Wen Inc. announced that the company plans to close its door manufacturing plant in Christiansburg early next year. The company said that the closure is part of a move to improve production efficiency. The Christiansburg plant is scheduled to close on Jan. 31, 2014. The company said it's encouraging the plant's 109 workers to transfer to other production facilities.
