AirPatrol Corporation and Cubeware GmbH Announce Strategic Alliance for Mobile Analytics
Nov 6 14
AirPatrol Corporation and Cubeware GmbH announced that they are offering an integrated next generation big data analytics platform focused on gaining business insights based on where, how and when people use mobile devices. AirPatrol develops a system that uses small sensors to detect and locate cellular and WiFi devices based on the signals they emit. The system can anonymously count customers, measure foot traffic flow, monitor how long people stay and how often they return. It can also trigger actions such as sending an alert, coupon or information via phone-based apps when the device moves into a "hot zone." AirPatrol's systems are used in a broad variety of settings from shopping malls and event venues to public buildings, hospitals and universities. With the Cubeware Solutions Platform C8, Cubeware offers an interactive, integrated and easy-to-use business intelligence platform that addresses all aspects of modern business intelligence projects -- from data management, data modeling, data governance and data distribution to data visualization. In combination with the data generated by AirPatrol's mobile sensor system, an application collects and analyzes data from various information systems such as customer management, point-of-sale, accounting and business operations, and generates reports and live "dashboards" used for everything from measuring overall business performance to deciding how many items to ship to a particular store. Cubeware's customer portfolio boasts some of the most prominent brands in the business world including Siemens, Volkswagen, Bertelsmann and Fuji. The AirPatrol/Cubeware alliance is focused on delivering mobile location analytics for the retail, commercial real estate and property management, resort and hospitality, public events and theme parks industries. New offerings for additional markets are expected early in 2015.

AirPatrol Corporation Announces New Add-in for its ZoneDefense 5 Mobile Device Security Platform
Aug 13 14
AirPatrol Corporation announced a new add-in for its ZoneDefense 5 mobile device security platform that will allow organizations using the Enterprise Mobility Management suite from VMware's AirWatch to automatically switch security policies of smartphones and tablets based on the device's owner and location. AirPatrol's ZoneDefense 5 for AirWatch allows systems administrators to create "hot zones" that can change the features, apps and content available on an AirWatch-managed device when it enters the area. The hot zones can be as large as an entire building or as small as an office cubicle. The ability to automatically change device policies based on zone makes it simple for organizations to manage areas that have differing security levels, such as a building lobby versus the corporate boardroom. As a mobile device enters a zone, a new security policy can be triggered that prevents unauthorized activities such as file transfers, use of a camera or recording device, or accessing certain apps. Once the device exits the zone, the more stringent security policy is replaced with the standard one and mobile device activities return to normal.
