Thomas Richards, who now serves as treasurer of the UM System, has been named as interim vice president of finance and administration. Richards was appointed treasurer in 2011. Richards will be taking the place of Nikki Krawitz, who will retire this summer. Krawitz has worked at the university since 1996, and as vice president of finance and administration, she is responsible for a budget totaling $2.7 billion and investments totaling $5.5 billion.
Richards position becomes effective July 1.
