Walsh Construction Company Receives $40 Million Contract for Improvements to the South Side I-465 and I-65 Interchange Area

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has awarded a $40 million contract to Walsh Construction company of Crown Pointe for improvements to the south side I-465 and I-65 interchange area. A construction schedule will be established in the near future, and the project is expected to be complete by spring of 2015. The contract limits lane closures and traffic impacts during the planned 59-day closure of I-65/70 between the north and south splits, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Walsh Construction Co. II LLC, Chicago, was awarded a $158,937,000 federal contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York, for the construction of a new cadet barracks at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.

Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, LLC, Solomon, Cordwell, Buenz & Associates, Inc. and Walsh Construction Company Of Illinois Enter into Contract

Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, LLC has entered into a development agreement with Lake Forest College for a new 233 bed student housing facility. The approximately $15 million project located on the College's South Campus in Lake Forest, Illinois also includes demolition of the College's existing Moore Hall student housing facility. Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions has partnered with Solomon Cordwell Buenz (Chicago) as the architect on the project, and Walsh Construction (Chicago) as the construction contractor performing demolition and construction work for the new building. The new student housing facility is scheduled to be delivered for occupancy in August 2013, prior to the commencement of the 2013/2014 academic year.
