University of Denver opened the doors to its new academic hub, the Anderson Academic Commons. Constructed on the site of the former Penrose Library, the Anderson Academic Commons is a 21st century facility built for collaborative learning. It houses the University Libraries, consisting of the Penrose Collection and traditional library services. It also houses the Research Center and Digital Media Center, as well as other key high-use academic support services. These include the Writing Center and Writing Program offices, Math Center, University Technology Services Help Center and the Office of Teaching and Learning. The grouping of library collections and services with these academic success centers facilitates cross-disciplinary interaction to increase the depth and effectiveness of student learning.

The University of Denver Division of Athletics & Recreation and CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, Inc. have reached accord on an eight-year strategic partnership in support of multi-media rights representation for the pioneers' athletic programs. The agreement will begin immediately and run through June of 2019. As the exclusive multi-media rights representative for Denver athletics', CBS Collegiate Sports Properties will operate under the designation of Denver sports properties and engage the market with new inventory platforms and strategic initiatives in support of DU. The growth of athletic program and facilities in recent years has been very exciting, and the opportunities to create additional revenue motivated to consider ways to maximize corporate sponsorship program. Top priority was to secure a partner who not only would help to exceed divisional goals, but also understand and appreciate athletic, campus and community culture.
