YRC Worldwide Supports Dismissal of ABF Freight System Lawsuit

YRC Worldwide agreed with the ruling by Judge Susan Webber Wright of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas to dismiss a lawsuit brought by ABF Freight System against several parties, including YRC Worldwide Inc., New Penn Motor Express, Inc., USF Holland, Inc. and the International Brotherhood Of Teamsters, claiming that certain amendments to the YRCW companies' collective bargaining agreement should be nullified. According to a release, the lawsuit was originally filed in November 2010 and was dismissed by Judge Wright in December of the same year. On appeal, the case was remanded to the district court for further consideration, resulting on August 11, 2012 ruling. YRCW is satisfied with the court's decision and believes the court ruled correctly and in accordance with the language of the collective bargaining agreement. The resolution of this lawsuit is in keeping with YRCW's committed effort to vigorously defend itself against these alleged claims by the plaintiff. YRC Worldwide has and will continue to protect and defend its reputation, as well as its services and brands.
Holland Plans to Hire an Additional 450 Professional Drivers to Meet Growing Demand

Holland announced it plans to hire an additional 450 qualified over-the-road and local city drivers throughout the Midwest in the next few months. Driver recruitment efforts are system-wide with a spotlight on the Evansville, South Bend, Ind.; Chicago and Wheeling, Ill.; as well as Cleveland and Youngstown, Ohio; Louisville, Ky.; and Milwaukee, Wis. areas. Holland continues to experience increasing demand in the next-day delivery market. In anticipation of further growth, Holland has been adding professional drivers and equipment. So far in 2012, the company has hired nearly 300 drivers, added more than 100 tractors and over 450 additional trailers to its fleet to be even more effective and meet customer satisfaction levels.

Michael J. Naatz resigned as president of USF Holland, Inc., a regional subsidiary of YRC Worldwide, and joined Kansas City Southern as senior vice president and chief information officer. Prior to being named president of Holland last September, Naatz was chief customer officer and an executive vice president at YRC Worldwide in Overland Park, Kan.
