Regal Cinemas, Inc. announced that multiplex has closed in the Saucon Valley Square shopping center on Route 378 in Lower Saucon Township. The 1,300-seat, 10-screen theater - then-called Hoyts Saucon Valley Cinema 10 - was among several multiplexes that opened in the Lehigh Valley in the late 1990s with amenities such as stadium-style seating, plush seats and digital sound. Hoyt later sold its U.S. assets to Regal Cinemas. The company said megaplex was closed because it was underperforming.
