Chelsea Piers and Lenox Hill Hospital announced a new three-year marketing partnership. As part of the new agreement, Lenox Hill is now the official hospital and health and wellness partner of the Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex, a 28-acre sports village built on three historic Hudson River piers. The deal will provide Lenox Hill's new West Village health facility, scheduled to open this June, with valuable brand exposure across multiple platforms, including health and wellness messaging on the Chelsea Piers electronic video screen and video wall, a year-round series of health screenings to be held at the various sports venues, and featured content in customer newsletters and social media communications. The Lenox Hill medical complex, located on the former campus of St. Vincent's Hospital, will feature: Manhattan's first freestanding, 24/7 emergency department, an imaging center, ambulatory surgery suite, outpatient rehabilitation, health and wellness services, and medical specialty practices. Chelsea Piers will also serve as a platform for events that link Lenox Hill with the surrounding Chelsea and Greenwich Village communities and target special populations interested in such issues as behavioral health, weight management, senior health and wellness.

Lenox Hill Hospital announced the appointment of David B. Samadi, MD, as chair of urology at Lenox Hill Hospital and professor of urology at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. An internationally recognized leader in robotic prostate cancer treatment, Dr. Samadi joins Lenox Hill Hospital from Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was vice chair of the Department of Urology and chief of robotics and minimally invasive surgery. On July 1, 2013 Dr. Samadi and his staff of 20 are scheduled to open a new office at 485 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, which will be the home of Lenox Hill Hospital's new Prostate Cancer Center. For the past four years, he has appeared regularly as a medical contributor on the Fox News Channel. He currently serves as host of Fox's "Sunday Housecall."
