New Mexico State University Names Greg Fant as Interim Executive Vice President and Provost

Greg Fant, New Mexico State University's associate vice president and deputy provost, has been named the university's new interim executive vice president and provost. Fant has served as NMSU's associate vice president and deputy provost since 2011. He was interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences twice, between 2007-2008 and 2009-2010.

NMSU Names Julie Weber as Director of Housing and Campus Life

Julie Weber was named NMSU director of housing and campus life. Julie Weber has previously served as New Mexico State University's director of housing and residential life, and also has served for the past year as the interim director of Corbett Center Student Union. Weber has now officially taken on both roles permanently under the title director of housing and campus life. Weber's new role will allow the two departments - Corbett Center Student Union and Housing and Residential Life - to work more collaboratively to engage students in opportunities and events at Corbett, making it a more vibrant and engaging place for students and the campus community.

New Mexico State University to Name Garrey Carruthers the School's New President

The New Mexico State University regents May 6 afternoon voted 3-2 to name Garrey Carruthers the school's new president. Regent chair Mike Cheney will now begin negotiations and hopes to sign a contract with Carruthers by May 10. He was not present for the announcement, and Cheney gave him the news over the phone. Carruthers, 73, is the school's first internal, permanent pick since executive vice president William B. Conroy became president in 1997. Carruthers was governor from 1987 to 1991 and is dean of NMSU's College of Business.
