Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated sued over natural claims about Goldfish crackers, Bolerjack v. Pepperidge Farm Inc. The company is the defendant in a lawsuit that alleges that the company misleads consumers about its popular cheddar Goldfish crackers. The lawsuit claims Pepperidge Farm advertises the crackers as being natural when in fact they contain genetically modified organisms. The suit alleges that consumers were duped into purchasing the crackers on the belief that they contained no artificial ingredients. The lawsuit seeks damages on behalf of purchasers of the products as well as disgorgement of ill-gotten gains.

Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated Opens New Innovation Center to Drive Further Growth in Global Baking and Snacking

Campbell Soup Co. and Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated executives were joined by Connecticut State officials, Norwalk Mayor Richard Moccia and other partners to celebrate the opening of its new 34,000-square-foot innovation center located at Pepperidge Farm headquarters at 595 Westport Avenue in Norwalk. The innovation center features a contemporary design with a curved glass exterior and houses a pilot plant with product development and testing lines; culinary kitchens, including a 'broadcast-type' culinary demonstration kitchen; and scientific labs and meeting rooms. The center was designed as an environmentally-friendly, LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) 'green' building and employs a variety of energy efficiency, water conservation and daylight harvesting techniques. Recycled building materials were used in the construction.

Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated Announces Executive Changes

Campbell Soup Co. announced that Irene Chang Britt, 49, officially takes over as President of Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated as Pat Callaghan steps down after more than 30 years with the company. Britt will be based at Pepperidge Farm's headquarters in Norwalk, Conn. and will report to Campbell's President and CEO Denise Morrison. In addition to leading Pepperidge Farm, Britt oversees Campbell's Global Baking & Snacking businesses. Britt became Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer in October 2010 with responsibility for Campbell's Global Strategy, Global Marketing Services and Global Consumer and Customer Insights. Prior to that, Britt served as President-North America Foodservice, leading the foodservice business and the retail perimeter business across the United States and Canada. She also served as Vice President and General Manager-Sauces and Beverages with responsibility for the U.S. Beverage portfolio and the "Prego" and "Pace" sauces businesses. Under Britt's leadership, the Sauces and Beverages business delivered three consecutive years of top- and bottom-line growth, including consistent gains of net sales, market share and profit on the company's U.S. Beverage business. Britt is a member of the Board of Directors of Sunoco Inc. She also serves on the Catalyst Board of Advisors and on the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) U.S. Executive Advisory Board.
