Florida Atlantic University announced that Mary Jane Saunders resigned. Dennis Crudele, FAU's senior vice president for finance and administration, was named the acting president, effective immediately.

Florida Atlantic University named Anthony Barbar as the new chair and Tom Workman as the new vice chair of the University's governing board. Chair Barbar is an FAU Trustee since 2008, Barbar served as chair of the Board's audit and finance committee. He also served as past president of the FAU National Alumni Association, and is active in many charitable and community organizations, including the National Association of Realtors, CoreNet Global, Sheridan House Family Ministries, the Council of 100, and Boca Raton Community Church. Workman has served in leadership capacities with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and on the boards of several banks and various nonprofit organizations. He also has served as president of the FAU National Alumni Association, as treasurer, finance committee chair and executive committee member of the FAU Foundation, and as chair of the Board of Trustee's strategic planning committee.

Florida Atlantic University's Division of Community Engagement recently named Pamela Landi as its assistant vice president for university relations. Landi will advocate for government funding and policies to advance FAU's faculty, staff, students and alumni at the local, state and federal level. She also will oversee FAU's involvement in economic development at all levels. Landi joins FAU with more than 27 years of public service and legislative experience benefiting South Florida. She began her career as an intern for former U.S. Congressman Clay Shaw, which resulted in a permanent position spanning 15 years. Following her tenure with Shaw, Landi worked for Broward County's Office of Public and Governmental Relations, where she was appointed director in 2007. She also served as president of the National Association of Intergovernmental Relations Officers.
