Kamehameha Schools To Sell Assets Of Hawaii Kai Towne Center And Windward Mall

Kamehameha Schools said that it intends to offer for sale the buildings and other improvements at Hawaii Kai Towne Center and Windward Mall in Kaneohe while retaining ownership of the underlying land. Elizabeth Hokada, Vice-President for Endowment of Kamehameha Schools said, "Selling the buildings and keeping the land greatly strengthens our perpetual endowment. As with our Royal Hawaiian Center offering, this action is aligned with our 2000-2015 Strategic Plan, which calls for active stewardship of our lands - whether for commercial, agricultural or conservation purposes - while prudently optimizing the value and use of Kamehameha's financial and non-financial resources in support of our educational mission."

Kamehameha Schools Puts Asset Up For Sale

Kamehameha Schools Bernice Pauahi Bishop Estate is planning to sell off asset. The company stated that it is putting the buildings at the Royal Hawaiian Center on the market. Chief Executive Officer, Dee Jay Mailer said, “The transition of the Royal Hawaiian Center from a fully owned Kamehameha Schools property to one where Kamehameha Schools retains our lands but sells its improvements greatly strengthens and diversifies our perpetual endowment. This is aligned with our 2000-2015 Strategic Plan, which calls for active stewardship of our lands while optimizing the value and use of current financial and nonfinancial resources in support of our educational mission.”

Kamehameha Schools CEO Dee Jay Mailer to Retire in 2014

Kamehameha Schools CEO Dee Jay Mailer announced that she will retire in 2014 after a decade at the top post. The 1970 Kamehameha Schools graduate, who became CEO of the $9 billion trust in January 2004, planned her retirement with trustees and in connection with the unveiling of a new 2015-2030 strategic plan for the trust, Kamehameha Schools said in a statement.
