American Diabetes Association Announces Executive Changes

The American Diabetes Association (Association) announced that Suzanne Berry, MBA, CAE has been named interim chief executive officer until a permanent CEO is appointed, effective August 1, 2014. Earlier this month, current CEO Larry Hausner announced that he will be stepping down from that role effective July 31. Ms. Berry is Principal of Berry(2) and Associates. Previously, she was founder of Association Resources, Inc. While there, her assignments included serving as Executive Director of the American Epilepsy Society and the American Society for Experimental Neurotherapeutics. Earlier, she was an executive at the Endocrine Fellows Society.

Larry Hausner to Step Down as CEO of the American Diabetes Association, Effective from July 31, 2014

Larry Hausner, CEO of the American Diabetes Association has announced that he will step down as CEO of the Association effective July 31, 2014 to pursue new opportunities in his native New York metro area. During his tenure, Mr. Hausner has been instrumental in leading the Association through a number of successful initiatives. The search for a new Chief Executive Officer, led by the Association's Board of Directors, will commence immediately and an interim CEO will be named by mid-July.

American Diabetes Association Appoints Ann Meredith as the New Executive Director for the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey Area

The American Diabetes Association (Association) announced that Ann Meredith, a recognized non-profit leader, has been named Executive Director of the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey area, effective January 21. Meredith will be responsible for strategic, fundraising and program initiatives, along with development of staff, volunteers, and the Community Leadership Board chaired by Joseph McHale, a senior partner with the Philadelphia-based law firm of Stradley Ronan Stevens and Young, LLP. Meredith brings an extensive executive background in nonprofit leadership, business development, strategic planning and corporate relations to the Association. In her most recent role, she served as president of her own non-profit consulting firm, providing management, strategic planning, communications, marketing and fundraising consulting to various organizations.
