American Bar Association Appoints Adrienne Dresevic to Governing Council-Health Law Section

Adrienne Dresevic, founding shareholder of The Health Law Partners, was recently appointed to the American Bar Association's (ABA) Governing Council of the Health Law Section. Appointed by the ABA Health Law Section Chair Kathleen Scully-Hayes, Dresevic will serve as a member-at-large through 2015. In this role, Dresevic joins a select group of appointed attorneys responsible for the growth, strategic development and general operations for the Health Law Section. Additionally, Dresevic will continue to serve in multiple roles with the ABA, including Co-chair for the Publications Committee, Chair of the Stark & Anti-Kickback Toolkit Editorial Board, Liaison to The Health Law Editorial Board, Vice Chair for the Revenue Committee and Vice Chair for the Physicians Legal Issues Conference.

American Bar Association Elects Howard Feller to Serve as Chair for Antitrust Section in 2014

McGuireWoods announced that Howard Feller, chair of the firm's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Department, was elected at the American Bar Association's annual meeting in August 2013 to serve as chair-elect of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law. Feller will become chair of the ABA Antitrust Section in August 2014. Feller previously served in the ABA Antitrust Section as vice chair, finance officer, secretary, communications officer, chair of the Program Committee, co-chair of the Sherman Act Section 1 Committee and chair of the Health Care Committee.

Crista Hogan to Serve on American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Judicial Independence

Crista Hogan, executive director of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, has been appointed to serve on the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Judicial Independence. Hogan was appointed by ABA President James R. Silkenat to a three-year term on the committee. The SCJI assists courts and judiciaries as well as bar associations in responding to infringement of judicial independence. Hogan will also serve as liaison to the National Association of Women Judges in their Informed Voter Project.
