Tennessee State University (TSU) announced several new appointments at the University. Dr. Mark Hardy, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Hardy served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Biology at Jackson State University. Dr. Stephanie Bailey as Director of Public Health Initiatives. Dr. Bailey currently serves as Interim Dean of the College of Public Service and Urban Affairs. They were tasked with reviewing the job descriptions, postings and advertisements; developing and implementing a score-card matrix; reviewing applications; conducting interviews; and making recommendations of two to three candidates to the President (for each position) for approval. The newly appointed officials will join TSU on or before July 1, 2013.

Tennessee State University Foundation Board of Trustees has a new chairman. He is Dwayne Tucker, a longtime senior management executive, and a 1980 TSU graduate. Tucker replaces Melvin Malone, who stepped down after two years at the helm, but will remain as a board member. Currently, Tucker is a senior adviser at Compass Executives, a management consulting services firm focused on entrepreneurial leaders of private and public companies.

Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover has been approved as the next chief executive officer for Tennessee State University. For the past 18 years, Glover has served as dean of the College of Business at Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss.
