Louisville Water Co. Announces Executive Changes

Louisville Water Co. announced that it's chief engineer was promoted to chief executive to lead the city-owned utility as it seeks closer cooperation, and perhaps a merger, with the Metropolitan Sewer District. James Brammell said developing closer ties with MSD as directed by Mayor Greg Fischer will be his top challenge. Brammell had been the utility's vice president of production operations and its chief engineer since 2007, earning $154,000 a year. He replaces Greg Heitzman.

Louisville Water Company, Inc. president and CEO Greg Heitzman will step down from his position May 1, 2013 to take a full-time position as executive director of Louisville-Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District. Heitzman, who has worked for 30 years with the water company, also has served as interim executive director of MSD since December 2011. Heitzman plans to lead MSD for as long as two years.
