Cancer Treatment Centers of America announced the appointment of Maurie Markman, MD, as President of the company's Medicine & Science unit, in which capacity he will be responsible for advancing the organization's overall commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, safety, and patient satisfaction. Dr. Markman served most recently as Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs & National Director of Medical Oncology at CTCA.
In his new role, Dr. Markman will assume oversight of the CTCA national clinical team, with a focus on the application of all clinical and translational research to patient care. An expert in research on gynecologic malignancies, new drug development, and novel management strategies, Dr. Markman served in a variety of clinical leadership and academic positions at some of the country's leading cancer institutions prior to joining
CTCA in 2010, including The Cleveland Clinic, the University of Texas - MD Anderson Cancer Center, The Ohio State University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Cornell University Medical College, and the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.

Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has announced the appointment of Kristin Darby, CPA, MBA, as its Chief Information Officer. In addition to serving as a member of the CTCA leadership team, Darby will be the principal architect of the organization's Information Services (IS) function which includes all clinical and non-clinical hardware and software applications, data infrastructure, warehousing and security, informatics, and system-wide technology support services. Darby served most recently as the CIO of the Northeast Region for Tenet Healthcare, overseeing the IT and Informatics functions at nine acute care hospitals as well as nearly 100 ancillary locations. Prior to her tenure at Tenet, Darby was the CIO, VP of Information Solutions for Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions, the patient safety and medical malpractice company owned by and serving the Harvard medical community. She began her career at Fresenius Medical Care where she held a variety of both regional and national positions, and was the Director of Information Technology before leaving to join the Risk Management Foundation.
